Abstract:
This paper deals with the problem of structuring the relationship between computing architecture and the architecture of business processes. Structure follows strategy. The strategy that I take is inspired by the notion of pull systems for manufacturing production; I ask these questions: 1. Can we define a pull system between the information system of an enterprise and its business processes? 2. If so, will we achieve improvements as dramatic as pull systems are achieving in manufacturing?
