Abstract:
This paper aims at contributing to the problem of designing ontologies for spatiotemporal knowledge representation. We consider a linguistically oriented, situation-based methodology and we situate it with respect to the WordNet approach. We focus on the problem of how to design a system of ontological concepts related to various kinds of motion. We develop the concept of situation based synsets.
