The KING KONG linguistic interface was developed at MITRE to be a portable natural Ianguage interface for expert systems. It is possible to port KING KONG from one expert system to another without writing more than a modest amount of code, regardless of backend architecture. We describe porting it from its original expert system backend to another expert system which was radically different in domain and representation.
