The Representational Redescription Hypothesis Compared Against Two Cases

Abstract. Re-representation is an interesting variety of creativity. The Representational Re-description Hypothesis of Karmiloff-Smith et a/is a theory of individual cognitive functioning and development emphasising the ro1e of rerepresentation. We ask hae whether this can be seen as a general theory of re-representation, and answer in the negative.
