Abstract:
Intel Research Seattle and the University of Washington have collaborated to build the GUIDE system. The GUIDE system uses probabilistic models of human activity, coupled with RFID sensors to infer human activity. By utilizing Expectation-Maximization, models may be automatically refined to match individual user behavior. Preliminary experiments with the system show promise for recognizing Activities of Daily Living, an important class of activities in elder care management.
