This talk will review the resources that are currently available for research in the related areas of discourse and dialogue. Here I use "discourse" to refer to connected utterances from a single viewpoint or producer (as occurs in journals, newswires, or similar textual sources). By "dialogue" l will mean multi-party exchanges, including spoken dialogue, but also including text-based exchanges that occur in a collaborative workspace environment (MUDs), or even in e-mail exchange.
