Preface

Although MAICS has many traditions, this year I decided try a couple of new ideas. For example, I decided to invite a few speakers to add a bit of icing to the conference. To my great surprise, everyone that I asked accepted! At first, I thought I was in deep trouble. But I hope that the additional ten talks from the experts in our field will make this an excellent conference for everyone, and an idea to consider for a future MAICS tradition.
