Temporal Information Extraction for Temporal Question Answering

This paper outlines work-in-progress regarding temporal information extraction, and highlights issues to be discussed by future research in temporal question answering. Based on Schilder and Habel (2001), we first present a semantic tagging system for temporal expressions and discuss how the temporal information conveyed by these expressions can be extracted. We then discuss extensions to the temporal tagger currently being implemented.
