Paper Modification Guidelines

 

Regular Paper Submission Guidelines

After the August 8 abstract deadline and until the end of review process the following items cannot be changed:

  • contact author name and email — if there is an exceptional circumstance (e.g., unforeseen job change) kindly send AAAI chairs an email at aaai23workflowchairs@aaai.org.
  • subject areas

After the August 8 abstract deadline and until the August 15 paper submission deadline, the following items can be changed

  • list of authors
  • author order
  • submitted paper

and the following items can be edited, but should not be substantively changed.

  • title of the paper
  • abstract of the paper

If the Program Chairs determine that an abstract or title has been changed to the extent that it describes research that is qualitatively different, the paper will be rejected without review.

After the August 15 paper submission deadline, and until the August 18 supplementary material deadline, the following items can be changed:

  • technical appendix
  • multimedia appendix
  • code & data appendix

After the August 18 deadline and before notification NOTHING can be changed.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Submissions that have “placeholder” titles (e.g., test or xyz) or abstracts (or none at all) will be deleted. Authors of such vacuous submissions will be notified that their abstract has been deleted and will not be allowed to submit a full paper.

NeurIPS Fast Track Paper Submission Guidelines

After the September 16 abstract & paper submission deadline and until the end of review process the following things cannot be changed:

  • contact author name and email — if there is an exceptional circumstance (e.g., unforeseen job change) kindly send AAAI-23 chairs an email at aaai23chairs@aaai.org.
  • title of the paper
  • abstract of the paper
  • subject areas
  • list of authors
  • author order
  • submitted paper
  • appendix for resubmissions of substantially improved, previously rejected NeurIPS-21

After the September 16 paper submission, and until the September 21 supplementary material deadline, the following things can be changed:

  • technical appendix
  • multimedia appendix
  • code & data appendix

After the September 21 deadline and before notification NOTHING can be changed.

(IMPORTANT NOTE: The Program Chairs reserve the right to reject the paper if the submission (a) did not accurately disclose any of the information related to their previous NeurIPS-22 paper (either by modifying it or by failing to disclose it, in whole or in part); (b) failed to name any of the authors listed as part of the original submission as authors of the AAAI-23 submission (when appropriate, new author names can be added to AAAI-23 submissions); (c) used a previous NeurIPS submission as a “placeholder” to enable late submission of a materially different AAAI-23 submission.)

Paper / Paper Data Changes after Acceptance and in Preparation for Submission to AAAI Press

After notification and until the preprint deadline (12/1/2022), authors may request to modify their paper title by emailing AAAI at aaai23@aaai.org. Note that authors cannot be added or deleted under any circumstances, nor can the author order be changed.

After the preprint deadline and until the archival deadline, changes can only be made at the request of the publisher.                                   

Paper / Paper Data Changes after the Archival Deadline (03/07/2023)

Nothing can be changed, once the final archival copy has been submitted.
