
AAAI 2022 Spring Symposium Series

The Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, in cooperation with Stanford University’s Department of Computer Science, is pleased to present the 2022 Spring Symposium Series, to be held Monday through Wednesday, March 21–23, 2022 at Stanford University. The titles of the nine symposia are as follows:

- AI Engineering: Creating Scalable, Human-Centered and Robust AI Systems
- Artificial Intelligence for Synthetic Biology
- Can We Talk? How to Design Multi-Agent Systems in the Absence of Reliable Communications
- Closing the Assessment Loop: Communicating Proficiency and Intent in Human-Robot Teaming
- Designing Artificial Intelligence for Open Worlds
- Ethical Computing: Metrics for Measuring AI’s Proficiency and Competency for Ethical Reasoning
- How Fair is Fair? Achieving Wellbeing AI
- Machine Learning and Knowledge Engineering for Hybrid Intelligence
- Putting AI in the Critical Loop: Assured Trust and Autonomy in Human-Machine Teams
* All in person symposia will have a remote attendance option.
An informal reception will be held on Monday, March 21. A general plenary session, in which the highlights of each symposium will be presented, will be held on Tuesday, March 22.
Registration and General Information

ALL ATTENDEES MUST PRE-REGISTER. All accepted authors, invited speakers, symposium participants, and other invited attendees must register by February 18, 2022. Participation will be open to active participants as well as interested individuals on a first-come, first-served basis. All registrations should be completed by March 4, 2022. Registrations will be accepted until March 21 via the online form, but earlier registration is preferred. The conference registration fee includes admission to one symposium, coffee breaks, and the opening reception.

- Member: $345.00
- Nonmember: $505.00
- Student Member: $175.00
- Nonmember Student: $250.00
Symposia generally range from 40-75 participants each. Participation will be open to active participants as well as other interested individuals on a first-come, first-served basis. Each participant will be expected to attend a single symposium. Registration information will be available on the AAAI website in early January 2022.

Payment Information
Payment of registration fees is required at the time of registration. Checks and bank transfers must be in US dollars. Checks (drawn on US bank) or international money orders should be made out to AAAI. American Express, MasterCard, VISA, and Discover are also accepted. Registration applications must be submitted online via the URL below. If you qualify for student rates, you will be asked to submit your proof of student status via the online form. The registration form is available online.

Stanford Marguerite Shuttle
The Stanford University Marguerite Shuttle Bus provides service from several points along El Camino Real, the CalTrain station, and other surrounding locations to the Stanford Oval as well as transportation around the Stanford Campus. CalTrain
CalTrain runs between San Francisco and San Jose, with stops in Palo Alto several times a day (weekdays). For up-to-date fare information and timetables, please visit the CalTrain website or call 1-800-660-4287.
Parking
AAAI has arranged for symposium attendee parking in the Galvez Lot on the Stanford campus, March 21-23, at a discounted cost. All symposium attendees will receive a parking coupon code, which may be used to secure the discounted parking rate for their numbered space in the Galvez lot. Attendees will pay the fee directly at one of the pay machines at the lot. The machines accept MasterCard, Visa, or exact cash/coins only. A map of the Galvez lot location will be mailed to all registrants prior to the symposium. Registrants can also refer to the parking map available on the Stanford University’s Visitor Information page. Note that Stanford has very strict parking guidelines for visitors. The AAAI Spring Symposium parking coupon is valid in the Galvez lot only.
