Call for Participation


Important Deadlines

  • November 1, 2019: Submissions due to organizers (unless otherwise noted in individual descriptions)
  • December 6, 2019: Notifications of acceptance sent by organizers

AAAI Spring Symposium Submission Site

Most organizers have elected to use the AAAI Spring Symposium EasyChair site for receipt of submissions. If specified in the individual symposium description, please submit your work via the AAAI Spring Symposium EasyChair site. Please be sure to select the appropriate symposium when submitting your work.

The Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, in cooperation with Stanford University’s Department of Computer Science, is pleased to present the 2020 Spring Symposium Series, to be held Monday through Wednesday, March 23–25, 2020 at Stanford University. The titles of the eight symposia are as follows:

  • Applied AI in Healthcare: Safety, Community, and the Environment
  • Artificial Intelligence in Manufacturing
  • AI Welcomes Systems Engineering: Towards the Science of Interdependence for Autonomous Human-Machine Teams
  • Challenges and Opportunities for Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning
  • Combining Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning with Physical Sciences
  • Combining Machine Learning and Knowledge Engineering in Practice
  • Deep Models and Artificial Intelligence for Defense Applications: Potentials, Theories, Practices, Tools, and Risks
  • Towards Responsible AI in Surveillance, Media, and Security through Licensing

An informal reception will be held on Monday, March 23. A general plenary session, in which the highlights of each symposium will be presented, will be held on Tuesday, March 24. (See the schedule overview that follows)

Submission Requirements

Interested individuals should submit a paper or abstract by the deadline listed below. Please mail your submissions directly to the chair of the individual symposium according to their directions. Do not mail submissions to AAAI.

Registration

Symposia generally range from 40–75 participants each. Participation will be open to active participants as well as other interested individuals on a first-come, first-served basis. Each participant will be expected to attend a single symposium. Registration information will be available on the AAAI web site in December 2019.

Monday, March 23
9:00 AM – 5:30 PM Sessions (4 sessions, 1.5 hours each)
12:30 PM – 2:00 PM Lunch break (attendees on own)
6:00 PM – 7:00 PM Reception

Tuesday, March 24

9:00 AM – 5:30 PM Sessions (4 sessions, 1.5 hours each)
12:30 PM – 2:00 PM Lunch break (attendees on own)

Wednesday, March 25
9:00 AM – 12:30 PM Sessions (2 sessions, 1.5 hours each)
Symposium concludes at 12:30 PM.
