AAAI 2021 Fall Symposium Series

Due to the current resurgence of COVID outbreaks, the AAAI 2021 Fall Symposium will be held virtually again this year. AAAI is committed to providing a safe environment for all AAAI meeting attendees. Please consult symposium supplementary websites via the Call for Participation (see below) for further details about deadlines and scheduling as they become available.

Upcoming Deadlines


August 13, 2021: Submissions due to organizers.

  • NOTE: Due to the change in format, many organizers are extending this deadline. Please contact organizers directly or see individual descriptions on supplementary websites for extensions.

September 3, 2021: Notifications of acceptance sent by organizers.

  • NOTE: This date may shift, depending on submission deadline set by organizer.

October 1, 2021: Registration Deadline


The Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence is pleased to present the 2021 Fall Symposium Series, to be held virtually November 4-6.

Symposia generally range from 40–75 participants each. Participation will be open to active participants as well as other interested individuals on a first-come, first-served basis. Each participant will be expected to attend a single symposium.

The program will include the following seven symposia:

  • Artificial Intelligence for Human-Robot Interaction (AI-HRI)
  • Artificial Intelligence in the Government and Public Sector
  • Cognitive Systems for Anticipatory Thinking
  • Computational Theory of Mind for Human-Machine Teams
  • Human Partnership with Medical AI: Design, Operationalization, and Ethics
  • Science-Guided AI
  • Where AI meets Food Security: Intelligent Approaches for Climate-Aware Agriculture

  • October 1, 2021: Registration Deadline

ALL ATTENDEES MUST PREREGISTER. The FSS-21 symposium registration fee includes admission to all prerecorded and interactive sessions at your symposium. All accepted authors, invited speakers, symposium participants, and other invited attendees must register by October 1, 2021. While registration will remain open after the registration deadline, we encourage all to register by October 1 to facilitate organizational planning.

Nonmember: $185.00
Student Member: $85.00
Nonmember student: $115.00

(Includes AAAI membership, plus the conference registration fee)

Regular 3-Year: $725.00
Regular 5-Year: $870.00
Student (One-Year): $160.00

Payment Information

To register online, please complete the form at (https://aaaiconf.cventevents.com/fss21). Students will be required to submit proof of student status during the registration process.

Refund Requests

The deadline for refund requests is October 8, 2021. All refund requests must be made in writing to fss21@aaai.org. A $50.00 processing fee will be levied on all refunds granted.
