Membership in AAAI helps support ongoing efforts to encourage and facilitate research, education, and development in the artificial intelligence field, including our most recent open access initiative.
AAAI promotes cooperation and communication among members of the worldwide AI community and honors outstanding members of the AI field each year through its Fellows and Awards programs. We hope that you will consider AAAI as your professional society.

Membership and Subscription Rates
Thank you for your interest in AAAI Membership. AAAI is open to anyone with an interest in artificial intelligence research and development.
Regular Individual
- One-Year Membership Rate: $135.00
- Three-Year Membership Rate: $405.00
- Five-Year Membership Rate: $675.00
- Life-Time Membership Rate: $2025.00
Full-Time Student
- One-Year Membership Rate: $50.00
To be eligible, student applicants must send legible proof of full-time student status in a degree-bearing program, such as a letter from their faculty advisor or a copy of their registration.
Retiree
- One-Year Membership Rate: $50.00
Retiree applicants must send legible proof of age. Retirees must be 65 or older and retired from full-time employment.
Institution/Library
- One-Year Membership/Subscription Rate: $275.00
- Three-Year Membership/Subscription Rate: $825.00
- Five-Year Membership/Subscription Rate: $1375.00
Effective January 1, 2022, AAAI no longer produces AI Magazine as a printed magazine. As a benefit, Institution/Library subscribers who have provided a working email address will receive PDF files of AI Magazine issues on a quarterly basis. No agency discounts are given. Please note that AI Magazine is available in open access via Wiley Publications.
AAAI Developing Countries Membership
As part of AAAI’s international outreach initiative, AAAI is pleased to offer a special rate for members in selected developing countries. All first-time and renewing members in the countries listed are eligible for the following deeply discounted membership rates:

- Student $18.00 (US)

- Select your member type from the dropdown menu.
- Complete the membership application form.
- Submit your payment.
Renew Your AAAI Membership
- Visit the AAAI membership website to enter your username and password at Existing Users.
- Complete the membership application form.
- Or, click the invoice in the renewal reminder email message you received to submit your payment.
New memberships are accepted at any time and begin as soon as payment is received, and the membership has been processed. Renewal dates fall on the date the membership is activated and are not necessarily based on the calendar year. Cancellations are accepted at any time, but memberships are nonrefundable. All rates are subject to change without notice.
Effective January 1, 2022, AAAI no longer produces AI Magazine as a printed magazine. As a benefit, AAAI members who have provided a working email address will receive access to a digital and interactive version of AI Magazine and the AI Magazine App on a quarterly basis. Institution/Library subscriptions to AI Magazine issues are available to librarians at rates quoted above. No agency discounts are given. Please note that AI Magazine is available in open access via Wiley Publications.
