Abstract:
An essential factor influencing the effectiveness of tutoring and help system based on case-based reasoning approach is that the system should explain the inference procedure upon user’s requests. Additionally, problem solving using adaptation of single case is limited, compared with the use of multiple cases. That is, when the system finds the gap between the new problem situation and the similar case, more complete matching should be performed by using not only the retrieved case but also multiple cases which cover the gap in the case. The problem of applying multiple cases is that explanation structure in the case may be inconsistent during the adaptation process. In this paper, we will introduce the justification structure in explained cases and also study on the adaptability of multiple cases in order to solve such a deficiency.
