Desdirata for Incorporating Coordination Design into a Designer’s Desktop for DAI

Abstracts

This document is an extended abstract that discusses work on three basic building blocks considered necessary for including coordination design facilities in a designer’s desktop for DAI. The blocks are intended for system architectures rather than individual agent architectures. The blocks consist of (i) a taxonomy of system types based on classifying the interactions between agents; (ii) models of optimal coordination for different species of intelligent agent systems; and (iii) coordination patterns and artifacts for intelligent agent systems.
