AAAI 2021 Symposia

Call for Participation

** Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the 2021 Spring Symposium Will Be Held Virtually. **

The Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, in cooperation with Stanford University’s Department of Computer Science, is pleased to present the 2021 Spring Symposium Series, to be held Monday through Wednesday, March 22–24, 2021.

Important Deadlines

• November 1, 2020 : Submissions due to organizers (Several submission deadlines have been extended. Please see individual descriptions for extensions.)
• December 3, 2020: Notifications of acceptance sent by organizers. (This date will vary by symposium.)

AAAI Spring Symposium Submission Site

Most organizers have elected to use the AAAI Spring Symposium EasyChair site for receipt of submissions. If specified in the individual symposium description, please submit your work via the AAAI Spring Symposium EasyChair site. Please be sure to select the appropriate symposium when submitting your work. Interested individuals should submit a paper or abstract by the deadline listed above.

The titles of the symposia are as follows:

• Applied AI in Healthcare: Safety, Community, and the Environment*
• Artificial Intelligence for K-12 Education
• Artificial Intelligence for Synthetic Biologyy
• Challenges and Opportunities for Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning*
• Combining Machine Learning and Knowledge Engineering*
• Combining Machine Learning with Physical Sciences
• Implementing AI Ethics
• Leveraging Systems Engineering to Realize Synergistic AI/ML Capabilities
• Machine Learning for Mobile Robot Navigation in the Wild
• Survival Prediction: Algorithms, Challenges and Applications

*Combined Spring 2021 and Spring 2020 meetings.

Symposia generally range from 40-75 participants each. Participation will be open to active participants as well as other interested individuals on a first-come, first-served basis. Each participant will be expected to attend a single symposium. Registration information will be available on the AAAI web site in December 2020.

  Sessions (4 sessions @ 1.5 hours each)
• 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm
  Lunch break (attendees on own)

Tuesday, March 23

• 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
  Sessions (4 sessions @ 1.5 hours each)
• 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm
  Lunch break (attendees on own)
• 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
  Plenary Session

Wednesday, March 24

• 9:00 am – 12:30 pm
  Sessions (2 sessions @ 1.5 hours each)
• Symposium concludes at 12:30 pm.
