Dear AAAI Members,

The Twenty-Fifth Conference on Innovative Applications of Artificial Intelligence (IAAI-13) will held July 16-18 in parallel with AAAI-13 in Bellevue, Washington, USA. Paper submissions are due Thursday, January 17, 2013. IAAI-13 will consider papers in three tracks: (1) deployed application case studies, (2) challenge problem papers (see below), and (3) emerging applications or methodologies. Submissions should clearly identify which track they are intended for, as the three tracks are judged on different criteria. Applications are defined as deployed once they are in production use by their final end users (not the people who created the application) for sufficiently long that experience can be reported (usually greater than three months of use by the end users). All submissions must be original.

IAAI is pleased to announce the new Challenge Problem Paper track for 2013. The goal of the challenge problem track is to identify challenges to applying artificial intelligence to real world problems. Challenge problems may include roadblocks to applying existing AI technology to new tasks, or fundamentally new technologies needed for new tasks. These problems may consider any aspects of specific AI applications, including the underlying technology, engineering concerns, or technology transition and deployment issues. The program committee particularly welcome submissions from industry, government laboratories, and funding agencies that can provide a real world perspective to the challenge problems.
