Dear AAAI Members,

We invite you to participate in the First AAAI Conference on Human Computation & Crowdsourcing (HCOMP-13), to be held November 6-9, 2013 in Palm Springs, California. The conference is aimed at promoting the scientific exchange of advances in human computation and crowdsourcing among researchers, engineers, and practitioners across a spectrum of disciplines. The conference was created by researchers from diverse fields to serve as a key focal point and scholarly venue for the review and presentation of the highest quality work on principles, studies, and applications of human computation. The meeting seeks and embraces work on human computation and crowdsourcing in multiple fields, including human-computer interaction, cognitive psychology, economics, information retrieval, economics, databases, systems, optimization, and multiple subdisciplines of artificial intelligence, such as vision, speech, robotics, machine learning, and planning.

Note that the early registration deadline is Friday, September 20 at http://www.regonline.com/hcomp13.

HCOMP-13 has reserved a small block of rooms at the conference hotel, the Renaissance Palm Springs. Conference attendees must contact the hotel directly. Please identify yourself as an "HCOMP-13" attendee to qualify for the reduced rates. Space is very limited so attendees are encouraged to reserve early, and no later than October 7. Please see http://www.humancomputation.com/2013/#location for complete information on how to reserve your room.

The HCOMP-13 schedule will be published soon, and will include technical paper presentations, lively poster/demo sessions, CrowdCamp, a tutorial and workshop day, and more! The workshop and tutorial program on November 9 will include the following:

Workshops
W1: Crowdsourcing at Scale (Full Day)
W2: Disco: Human and Machine Learning in Games (Full Day)
W3: Scaling Speech, Language Understanding and Dialogue through Crowdsourcing (Half-Day pm)

Tutorial
T1: Incentives in Human Computation (Half-Day am)

For registration information, please go to the HCOMP-13 registration site at http://www.humancomputation.com/2013/#registration or you can go directly to the Regonline page at http://www.regonline.com/hcomp13 to complete your registration.
