Turing Centenary Events
-----------------------
In addition to the ACM A. M. Turing Award Lecture presented by Judea Pearl (University of California, Los Angeles) and the AAAI Inaugural Turing Lecture by Christos Papadimitriou (University of California, Berkeley), AAAI is pleased to announce the presentation of "Hello, Hi There" on Wednesday, July 25, at 6:30 - 7:30 PM. Conceived and directed by Annie Dorsen, "Hello, Hi There" uses the famous television debate between the philosopher Michel Foucault and linguist/activist Noam Chomsky from the 1970's as inspiration and material for a dialogue between two custom-designed chatbots: every evening, these computer programs, designed to mimic human conversations, perform a new - as it were, improvised - live text. For more information on the AAAI Turing events, please see http://www.aaai.org/Conferences/AAAI/2012/aaai12turing.php.

Please take a moment to check out all the great programs at AAAI-12, including 12 tutorials, 9 workshops, student programs, and competitions. The technical program will feature 294 presentations in oral and poster format, as well as a dynamic "Sub-Area Conference Spotlight" program -- new for 2012! The detailed program schedule is available at http://www.aaai.org/Conferences/AAAI/aaai12.php.

Please feel free to contact us at aaai12@aaai.org if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you in Toronto!

Regards,

Carol Hamilton
Executive Director, AAAI
