The Context Sensitivity of Cooperative Behavior

In this paper, I will argue that good strategies for collaboration in problem-solving dialogues cannot exist in general, but must be defined relative to other parameters of the communication situation. I will base my argument on evidence from simulations of collaborative problem-solving dialogues in an artificial world called Design-World in which two agents carry out a dialogue to agree on a furniture layout for a two room house.
